We buy vintage clothing!

Are you looking to sell some vintage clothing that's taking up space in your closet? Or perhaps your aunt or grandmother gifted you some things that you're not quite sure what to do with. We buy vintage and would be happy to take a look at what you have!

We have currently slowed down our buying, and are only being very, very picky about what we bring in. If we pass on your items, it's not you, it's us ;)

What We Buy

We specialize in vintage clothing and accessories (jewelry, scarves, purses), and we now carry women's, mens, and kids. Vintage is defined as anything 20 to 100-years-old, and anything older than 100 years is considered antique.

We look for items that are in good, wearable condition, or items that will only take a bit of work to sell. Think: a quick wash or sewing on a button. We do not buy items that have extensive staining or wear, or anything that will need a great deal of repair before it's in sellable condition. If your item DOES need to be repaired or laundered prior to sale, keep in mind that we will factor this into the offered price. 

What We Don't Buy

Some things that were popular 50 years ago just aren't going to sell as well today. A few examples of things we find difficult to resell are: suits, hats, wedding gowns and some formal dresses, most plain purses, and shoes from earlier than the 1970's. We'd love to carry pre-1970's shoes but often find they don't hold up so well or need extensive repair.

How It Works

Want to drop off? If you are in Memphis, you may drop your pieces off at the shop at 486 N. Hollywood during our regular business hours. If you choose to drop your items off, please be prepared to leave them for at least 24 hours for us to properly evaluate things. 

Prefer to make an appointment? Don't want to drop your items off? You may make a arranged buying appointment with us using the calendar link at the bottom of this page.

Have a ridiculous amount of stuff? We are happy to come to you! Please contact us if that is the case.

Don't live in Memphis? You are welcomed to ship items to us, but please keep in mind that you will be responsible for any initial or return shipping charges. We really prefer to see items in person before purchasing, but we may make exceptions in some cases.

Timelines and Valuations We will typically need at least 24 hours to properly evaluate, research, and value your piece(s), but we will let you know if we anticipate taking longer. Once we determine a retail price, we will make a cash offer paid via Venmo or Paypal. If you opt for store credit instead, to be used online or in person at the shop, we can usually offer you a little more!

Please note that a great deal of work goes into our valuations, and we consider a number of factors when pricing our merchandise. Some of these factors are: age, condition, brand name, rarity, desirability, "fit" within our target market, and "fit" within our current inventory. For example, if you bring in a really great plaid wool skirt, but we already have 20 other plaid wool skirts we probably won't be able to offer too much.

We have taken items on consignment a few times before, but we don't make it a regular practice. If this is something you're interested in, please let us know.
